Bilt Hamber Double Speed-Wax

BILT HAMBER Double Speed-Wax NOW AVAILABLE!

Bilt Hamber recently got in touch to tell us of some new and exciting products they added to their range. On the list was Bilt Hamber Double Speed-Wax, we had a quick read about the product and knew that it was something we had to stock, so here it is!

Double speed-wax  is an easy to use last stage paste wax for the protection of highly finished automobile paint systems. The carnauba wax used provides a deep rich glossy, highly water repellent and detergent resistant film that provides an economic and superior alternative to costly paste waxes which simply do not compete performance wise with this material.

How to use:

Thoroughly wash vehicle with hot soapy water, only use salt-free automotive shampoos. Do not use wash and wax products.  Dry vehicle using chamois leather, or synthetic equivalent.

Double speed-wax is not an abrasive polish, if your paintwork is faded, feels rough or has not been polished for a long period it will be necessary to use an abrasive polish and/or paint clay before application. Once prepared in this way regular application of double speed-wax  will maintain a high gloss finish without the need for further use of abrasive polishes.

Work on shaded cool panels. Using the sponge applicator provided apply in light circular motions extremely sparingly and allow to dull for approx 5-10 minutes. Buff to a high shine using the blue micro fibre cloth provided – turn frequently.

Occasionally under certain humid application conditions the applied film may bloom after initial application and buffing. The bloom will disappear once the film is fully cured, or it can be removed immediately with a wipe down / buff with a slightly damp buffing cloth. This is a characteristic of the T1 carnauba wax used in the manufacture of this product.

  1. Hello there just wondered why the how to use guide specifically states “do not use wash and wax shampoo”
What would happen if I did?
(I’ve literally just bought a 5 litre wash and wax shampoo!!)
    Thanks for your time

  2. Hi Jonjo

I have been in touch with Bilt Hamber themselves this morning – the reason that “wash and wax” shampoos should not be used before applying the double speed wax is that these shampoos create a film that stops the wax from adhering properly and doing its job to the best standard. Basically, think of this like painting on an oily surface – if there is another layer that has already been laid down, then it is going to struggle to find purchase.

I hope this helps, if there is anything else you need, please feel free to give us a call on 01209 202 949 or drop us an email to sales@opieoils.co.uk.

    Best regards
